What If Healing Your Own Trauma Is the Best Thing You Could Do to Help Heal the World?

You want to change the world. But old trauma is stealing

your energy, your focus - and your confidence.

There is a Silent War Going On Inside You

All your life you've been doing the best you could. You’re not afraid of hard work. You’ve invested in your education, grown your skills. On the outside, you’re capable, successful, maybe even admired. But behind the public face you are barely holding it together. Your nervous system is constantly being hijacked by your old trauma.

It Isn't Weakness - It's a Trauma Response

Trauma can show up in unexpected ways, especially for high-functioning people. You might not have flashbacks or nightmares—but your trauma may be quietly sabotaging your capacity to execute on what matters most. Do any of these sound familiar?

  • You feel like an imposter despite your expertise. "Who am I to ...?" runs on repeat. You downplay your credentials, deflect compliments, and stay small even though you have valuable contributions to make.

  • Perfectionism keeps you stuck. Nothing is ever "ready" enough to share, publish, or launch. You've missed countless deadlines waiting for "perfect." You know intellectually it's self-sabotage, but you can't seem to stop.

  • Success terrifies you as much as failure. When opportunities arise—the speaking invitation, the funding offer, the leadership position—you unconsciously create obstacles or find reasons to say no.

  • You have brilliant ideas but freeze when it's time to do something about them. The proposal sits on your desk, rewritten endlessly but never sent. The book outline is perfect—but you can't write chapter one. Your vision is clear, but getting there feels impossible.

  • You can lead other people's projects flawlessly, but sabotage your own. Everyone else's mission gets your best work. Your own gets pushed to "when I have time" (which never comes). You're exhausted from overcommitment while your vision collects dust.

  • You say yes to everyone except yourself. Boundaries feel impossible. You're the person everyone calls when they need help, but asking for help yourself feels terrifying or shameful.

  • You struggle to show up as the parent you want to be. Your patience runs thin faster than you'd like. Small things trigger big reactions. You see your own painful patterns beginning to repeat in your children, and it breaks your heart.

  • Money blocks prevent scaling. You struggle to raise prices, hire help, ask for funding, or invest in growth—even when it makes strategic sense. You might undercharge, over-deliver, or feel guilty about financial success.

  • You can never really relax. You are always anticipating the next thing to go wrong, the next crisis, the other shoe to drop.

  • You might also experience classic trauma symptoms: difficulty sleeping, persistent anxiety, intrusive thoughts or flashbacks, feeling numb or disconnected, chronic pain with no clear medical cause, or relationship struggles. But for high-functioning people, the biggest red flag is often this: your external success doesn't match your internal capacity to pursue what you actually care about.

If you recognize yourself here, you're not incompetent, lazy, or lacking discipline. Your nervous system is doing exactly what it learned to do to keep you safe. The problem is, those old protective patterns are now preventing you from stepping into your purpose.

Here's What's Really Happening

When you have experienced trauma—whether a single overwhelming event or years of ongoing stress, neglect, or abuse—your nervous system learned protective strategies. Maybe it learned that visibility equals danger, so now it creates freeze responses when you try to be seen. Maybe it learned that disappointing others equals abandonment, so now you can't say no even when saying yes destroys your capacity. Maybe it learned that mistakes bring punishment, creating the perfectionism that now makes "good enough" feel impossible...

These patterns made sense once. They may have literally saved you. But now they're running your life without your consent, hijacking your capacity exactly when you need it most.

You don't need another productivity system or business strategy. You've probably tried those. They don't work because the problem isn't in your skills or knowledge—it's in your nervous system. You need to address the trauma responses that are blocking your execution. That's where EFT comes in.

Imagine what you could do with your full energy, focus, and confidence intact.

You have great ideas, a real vision for a better world. You just don't have the energy to bring them to life right now - of course not. Nobody can function at full capacity while carrying the burden of unhealed trauma. But the world needs what you can bring. Let me help you heal your trauma so that you can make the greatest possible impact in the world. I am a person-centered practitioner and use Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), a somatic, evidence-based approach to resolving trauma at the deepest level.

So What Is EFT—and Why Does It Work?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or "Tapping" is a research-backed mind-body approach that combines talk therapy with light tapping on acupressure points on the face and upper body. Think ancient Chinese wisdom meets modern western psychology.

How It Works

When you lightly tap on specific accupressure points while focusing on a difficult thought, emotion, or memory, something remarkable happens:

  • Your brain receives calming signals that lower cortisol (the stress hormone).

  • Your nervous system stops reacting as if the past is still happening.

  • Old emotional charges begin to fade.

You won't forget what happened - but it becomes just another page in your story. It will no longer affect your life in the present.

Am I the Right Practitioner for You?

I love to work with people who have a vision for a better world. I help them heal the trauma that's getting in their way—so they can finally bring that vision to life.

As a solo practitioner, my time is limited—so I focus it where it can have the greatest ripple effect. When you heal your trauma you don't just feel better. You free up your capacity to create change that multiplies far beyond our work together. That's my theory of change: healing as leverage for systemic transformation."

This work requires going deep—and that means I need to be able to handle whatever we find there. I am trained to handle complex, severe trauma. My decades of crisis work—with people experiencing the most extreme trauma—means I'm not afraid of intensity, dissociation, or the darkest parts of your history.

I'm not promising easy. But I am promising manageable, safe, and worth it.

I started EFT sessions with Maria after many years of using every kind of healing modality I could find. I was looking for the one thing that would finally release permanently the childhood traumas that have  affected my entire life and every area of my life. Maria guided me through the EFT sessions with great compassion & understanding of what I had been experiencing in my life, making it easier for me to go into each session knowing that I would be safe, respected & listened to. To be able to release the life long traumas & patterning I carried late into adulthood has been life changing. Working with Maria & EFT I feel freer and more confident to move forward into a life that I can now have. I am so grateful that Maria is sharing her gift using EFT sessions with people across the world.
