Nobody questions why world star athletes still need coaches…
... but for some reason healers think they should be able to take care of themselves by themselves.
A case in point - my own this time. Now in my 60s, I have had lifelong problems with back pain since I was a teenager. I always had a pretty good idea where that came from: a medical emergency when I was an infant. Over the decades I have done a ton of work on it, and it certainly had improved. I often joke that I am in better shape now than I was as a young person. But it never completely went away. Sometimes it disappeared for a while, only to come back again. It was a constant, draining annoyance.
This spring my back had been bothering me more than usual and it had been going on for weeks again. I was thoroughly tired of it. Then, one of my EFT colleagues was looking for a practice client for some extra training she was doing. She asked me if I was interested and I said sure. Not having very high expectations I was hoping to at least knock my back pain into remission for a little while. But things didn't go the way I expected. While we were tapping, a long past event popped up in my memory that I would have never, ever expected to be related to this. But since it had made itself known to me we decided to follow our intuition and go with it. We cleared out that one event and my back pain reduced at least 90%. That was weeks ago, and it hasn't got worse again. (Of course I am now wondering what the remaining 10% is about…)
My point is: I have decades of relevant training and experience and of course I can do my own work on my own stuff. But I might never have unearthed that connection without the help of my colleague. Just like world star athletes still have their coaches, even the best healers still need that helping hand.
